Recovery
You'll Never Walk Alone: There is never an 'I' in teamwork
Recovery Is Possible
Breaking stigma. Building hope. Celebrating journeys.
I
n September 2025, the Hospital
proudly marked its first Addiction
Recovery Month. Throughout the
month, we welcomed a range of guest
speakers who delivered engaging
sessions exploring different aspects of
addiction and recovery.
On 12 September, we celebrated
Addiction Recovery Day. The morning
saw a gathering of community
addiction services, coming together to
celebrate recovery and share the
message that recovery from addiction
is possible. We were also joined by
our Mater colleagues, patients, and
visitors on the day to celebrate
addiction recovery.
The Whitty Wing came alive with the
vibrant performances from the SAOL
Women’s Choir and the Clondalkin
Recovery Choir, creating an
atmosphere of hope, connection, and
celebration.
We concluded the day on an inspiring
note, welcoming individuals and
families with lived experience of
addiction, who shared their personal
journeys of recovery. Their stories of
resilience and hope served as a
powerful reminder that recovery is
achievable and that support,
compassion, and community play a
vital role in helping people rebuild
their lives.
We are committed to promoting
addiction recovery through education,
advocacy, and support. Our aim is to
support people throughout their
recovery journey by breaking down
barriers, challenging stigma, and
reinforcing the message that recovery
from addiction is possible
On September 10th, we proudly
hosted our second Addiction Recovery
Day at the Hospital. Throughout the
morning, we were joined by a range of
local community addiction services on
the Whitty Wing, as we once again
joined forces to celebrate addiction
recovery.
