In the afternoon, we heard inspiring
stories from people with lived
experience of addiction, who shared
their personal journeys of recovery.
We were also delighted to welcome
Professor Stephen Stewart,
Consultant Hepatologist at the Mater
Misericordiae University Hospital,
who delivered a session on his
experience of caring for patients with
alcohol dependence and the vital role
healthcare professionals play in
supporting recovery.
The day provided an opportunity to
raise awareness, foster understanding,
and celebrate the resilience of
individuals in recovery while
highlighting the importance of
partnership between healthcare
services, community organisations,
and people with lived experience.
Addiction Recovery Day was held
