On International Women’s Day in March, three trailblazing women in Mater
healthcare shared their wisdom, wit, and lessons on leadership
International Woman’s Day 2025 was celebrated in the Mater
Hospital on Thursday 6th March amidst much fanfare around what it
means to be a 8Mater Woman.9 The theme of International Women9s
Day this year was to 8Accelerate Action9 and this proved to be very
evident. The day9s focal point (apart from much staff engagement and
merriment earlier on Whitty Street) was a conversation facilitated by
Dolores Heery of the Mission Directorate and Suzanne Dempsey,
Quality Assurance & Organisational Design, with John Deane-O9Keeffe
Chairing. Three fantastic Mater women - Dr. Tara McGinty,
Consultant, Ms. Josephine Ryan, CEO, and Ms. Oriyomi Waya,
Clinical Data Manager - took part in this lively, informative, and
participative discussion.
Mater women, are most assuredly, doing it for themselves!
