Lest we forget...
Jessy is married with three children but again, she
cannot thank the hospital enough for what they did for
her and her family when she was very ill. 8During our
difficult situation,9 she says, all my family were given
fantastic psychological and emotional support, from the
Mater Hospital staff, our friends and our community.9
She goes further. 8The support and care of the Mater
Hospital staff were an integral part of my speedy
recovery, she advises.
She might be right. Jessy has recovered very well since
this time, and was even back to work full time to ICU in
August 2020, with no major issues since. As humble as
always, Jessy says to me that after her COVID ICU stay,
she began to think more about how roles such as her
own, are valuable in the health care system. The question
is, how did she not know? But ICU patients and their
families who have met her always did - and always will.
Thank you Jessy for all that you, and your colleagues do.
Weeping may tarry for the night but joy comes in
the morning: Jessy is now back to full health but
remains reflective of her darker hours with Covid in ICU
Lest we forget:
